Hi everyone. I have owned this car for about ten years now and I have decided to move it on.
Coming soon to bringatrailer.
I have the itch for something new and different.
I bought the car from John in Colorado, and he had purchased the car from a physician in CO. I believe the doctor had imported the car in the early 2000s after buying it from Automuseum Bergyk in the Netherlands.
John did a thorough mechanical restoration on the car and installed a five speed and some firmer springs and sway bars. He also had headers made and put on a Magnaflow exhaust. I put a stock exhaust back on because the Magnaflow didn’t look right. I have the stock manifold and springs in a box.
The body was “done” at that time, but not very well.
Circa 2016, I sent the car to VSR and Mario’s team disassembled the entire car, rebuilt the unibody, painted it, and put it all back together. So the body is done right now. It has seats redone in correct materials from Gerrit. Headliner is a fresh correct repro. I had SMS Auto Fabrics make a short run of black vinyl headliner, copies from my original headliner. It was born a city pack, with steel doors, however it has manual steering, hood pins from factory and fixed rear glass. The front bumper was long gone when I got it. Definitely feels quick and light and surprisingly rigid compared to the two other coupes I have owned.
I drove it 1,000 miles in February on the BMWCCCA (classic) tour based north of Orlando. About 500-600 miles round trip to get to the start and 400-500 miles on the tour itself. It performed flawlessly.
I have a Dropbox link here to photos and video. I have had some great experiences. I have taken it to Amelia and showed it at the Quail in Carmel Valley. And drove the Big Sur coast with my son.
At that time I had 16s on it, but now has 14s.
Car is in my air conditioned garage in Fort Myers, Florida, south of Sarasota and north of Naples.
I live on a barrier island but keep my collector cars inland.

I welcome any inquiries and all inspections. VIN is 2275…
Have clear title, BMW certificate. Painted Fjord from factory.

Thanks
Scott Crater

guys, i have seen this car in person, and that was before it went to summer camp at VSR. it was a very nice CSL at that point but now it must be amazing knowing the quality of work that Mario + his team do. you can't find many owners and true car guys than Scott Crater ... super guy.
