One look at the incredibly shoddy welding on the chassis tells you it’s a real Allard. They are very very crude underneath!

My father said one of the selling points of the Allard J2X was that it used American drivetrain components. What they didn't say was the rate at which it used those componenets. If I remember correctly a conversation almost 60 years ago it was the rear axle that tended to fail under the power of the V8 engine and an enthusiastic right foot.
