Went and took a look at this one yesterday as it's local and an E9.

http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/1645534514.html

Shadowline trimmed out, painted bumpers, rust on hood, driver's door, front of rear wheel wells, POR 15'ed inner fenders, etc.

Grey leather interior that is getting worn, incorrect steering wheel, replacement radio, hood cable is a replacement I believe and has trouble holding down the hood without popping out.

I think the price is VERY optimistic given the rust and condition. I wouldn't even touch it myself, not just because I don't need another one, but because it's really just another project car that will need a lot of rust repair and a complete paint job to even come close to being something worth having and the coupling that with all the trim that would need to be stripped and polished, replaced, new interior, etc.

It's just not worth the time or money to me as it would be cheaper and better to buy a rust free car with weathered paint that's complete and make a good one from it.

Bottom line: unimpressive!

Plus, it left the factory as an automatic with the 5mph bumpers - kind of like a "crack baby", it started life with some disadvantages.

You have to feel for sellers like this guy - after rebuilding the engine and transmission, he is no doubt underwater on it. And, the recovery still hasn't arrived in Las Vegas (has it arrived anywhere?).

But, as Cad writes, it would be a good project - for someone else!

I did find an ad in Hemmings for it from a while ago (Jan. 2009), pricing it at $23K.

It used to live in Spokane before he brought it down to Las Vegas.

I just think someone would be WAY better off buying a solid car that needed a complete restoration, but is complete, rather than mess with this.

I feel for the guy too because I think he needs the money, but I don't see it happening anywhere close to his current asking price.
