8-Sept-2018:
This car is now sold to Clinton Stokes in California - thanks all for the notes, comments and interest.

Original post:
This car has been in my family its whole life - I was with my father when he bought it new in 1975. But now, somewhat sadly, I am giving it up because it's the 2nd of our "2nd cars" and just sits in our garage under a cover waiting for a new owner. I want it to go to an enthusiast who will appreciate and care for it the way it should be. It's running and in good condition, though has bits of rust under the paint in the usual spots. Below is a description and attached are photos. Please contact me if you want more info.

Price: $21,000
Detailed Description:
1974 3.0Cs in good condition with 156,540 miles (edited 9/8/18), 4-speed manual transmission, and sunroof (VIN 4310187). Been in one family since original purchase in 1975 in Southern CA - all original documents and repair records included. Repainted completely in 1986 in metallic red (‘Granatrot garnet’, BMW color #035) from original dark blue (’Atlantic blue’ #041) - see photos attached. Some rust bubbles just forward of sunroof and in lower front fender panels on both sides, but the paint over them is intact. One rear-strut tower was replaced in ~2007 due to rust. Front-seat leather replaced in mid-80’s - interior in good condition. Garaged for its entire life and driven only on the west coast. Needs new side-mirror but otherwise in full driving condition.

Hoping it goes to you Clinton! Fritz - Clinton is looking for a keeper. I’m happy to take a look next week if you guys haven’t closed a deal by then!

I'm pleased to report that this fine e9 is on its way to Clinton in southern California to be his new 'baby', perhaps a daily driver, and to get some restoration work done. I drove it into a covered trailer this morning at our house and it should be to his by Tue morning, barring any issues on I-5. I very much appreciate all the messages and offers made over the past two weeks - this is a great community! May all of you seeking a drivable e9 find one that suits your passion, and may this model continue to inspire the enthusiasm it richly deserves for many years to come. We've been happy owners, and happy it's going to another enthusiast.
Best,
-Fritz

Fritz, it is really cool that you joined the forum looking to sell your coupe to an enthusiast. You're another example of why this e9 community is so special.

Happy trails!
Dan

Looks like a nice honest car. Great color too. Welcome aboard. Drive that baby.

Thanks Fritz. Is it Tuesday already??? Looking forward to her arrival. Special Thanks to Markos for his assistance in the purchase. It would not have been this seamless without you. Im still shocked its not going to take me 10 more years to enjoy driving an E9.

Seems to me like a nice car and a good buy. Congratulations to Fritz (and welcome to a great community.

Compliments to Clinton for a great approach to selling the car.
