Some pics. @sfdon did some nice work on this. Going back in for CN springs, shocks, rustproofing, etcetera in a while. Super-nice car to drive. All I’d hoped for, handling-wise.

Looking nice Manthri, how about some interior shots.....

I bought a set of shocks from Germany that I think Keshav recommended to Don. Looking forward to having them on the car.

It still needs new rear seat upholstery, and there’s some species of black bear hibernating on the hat shelf, under two 6x9 speakers. Either that, or it’s heavy shag carpet. I gotta get that all sorted. After the holidays, I hope. I’ll take more pics after the rain stops and I can get it outside again.

I recall recommending you contact Don as he’s the SF E9 Guru! His expertise is well respected beyond the shores!
Maybe it was someone else? Anyways, they came recommended from German eBay.

Yes, I did post these from Stefan Ries not so long ago who’s an avid E9 fan and sells a bunch of E9 parts and is well known here. Let us know how the ride feels... will be a good for those looking for options since price for a set of 4 is competitive.

So nice NOT to have those damn HD Bilstein shocks.... too hard.
Stefan is great to do business with- let’s hope the new website is more user friendly.

Was that you that drove by me on Hwy 1 near Panther Beach around sunset last night? Must have been! I waved, but I wasn't in my e9, so you probably figured I was just some nutty hippy in a big white Westy. Lovely car, hope to see it up close around SC.

Haha. Yup. That pic was at Greyhound Rock. That’s my stomping grounds. I’m at Lulu’s or Coffee Cat most days, and I tend to drive an old car on most of those. I guess I can’t drive the E9 on rainy days - found that out the hard way - but the old open top MGA works fine for that, if you don’t stop at red lights. Come by Coffee Cat on a sunny day if you can. The E9 is likely to be there with me :)

I love Westys!

Cocomats arrived today. Super satisfied.

Finished :)

I’d recommend these guys. Ray’s Upholstery in Watsonville. They made the shifter boot and recovered the shifter surround in the seat leather. I’m guessing that setup is BTF.

The hat shelf BTW is clad in a thin semi hard foam and covered with speaker mesh. That allowed the preservation of the two 6x9 Polk speakers back there. Didn’t want to delete them.

On that note, if anyone has any experience installing a Bremen SQR 46 audio head in an E9, could you please let me know? I’m interested in doing that, instead of a Frankfurt. I wonder if it’ll fit, and how well it’ll work on more modern speakers. I’m told the Frankfurt is really not compatible with them. Thanks :)

Glamour pics along Highway 1 tonight. Photogenic ride. Nice evening for a drive :)
