Not sure which direction I am going with this one. Trying to get it up and running for now. It has been sitting quite a while. Originally taiga green. Fred
Can't say I have ever seen those side skirts on a coupe, and the front upper wings don't look like the other ones I have seen. The white-painted wheels are an interesting touch.
All those add ons to my knowledge were done in Germany prior to 1983. So In some respect I will move cautiously in terms o abandoning them. The engine is from what I can tell original fuel injected. At the moment it is stuck. Ugh. I am pickling it now with mystery oil. I removed the radiator to get access with a breaker bar. If I don't have success there with the oil and breaker. Then I have already plumbed the heater hoses and bypassed the radiator to run hot water from another running car through the engine in hopes of breaking it free. Not sure if that will work, but it's worth a shot. I have hopes. When I got the car amazingly there were no fluid leaks, an under the valve cover looks fresh. Fred
Any help identifying these switches? I hadn't chased the wires yet. They are under the steering wheel. one on left and 2 on right. Hope to be driving it next week. Fred
I think you will find that the green one operates the hazard warning lights (although it may be a dummy) and the small red one is a cut-out to the rear windows. Regards, John
Interestingly the ground effects are stamped bmw on the underside, I noticed today. Could they have been a bmw parts department add on at the time? I have yet to see another car with them. Fred
That sticker on them harkens back to the "M Technic" era when BMW decided to compete against Zender, Kamei, etc. in the mid 80s. They might have been for an E24 originally? Usually, they were one piece. Interesting.
