2000 For Sale - Thoughts?

A red 2000 with sunroof, automatic, excellent interior appeared on my FB page. Price $4,000. No location I recognized. Post is 21 days old but I am curious. Is this a fair price? Only a few photos, looked original.

I have fond memories of riding in one in Hamburg in 1972.

$4,000 for a a decent "2000" (I assume 2000CS) sounds fishy to me. The small number of photos is a red flag as well. If you intend to pursue this, make sure it is a real car and not an internet scam. Run away if the seller suggests using ebay as an escrow service. See article on p. 78 of the February 2018 issue of "Sports Car Market" for a discussion of that particular scam.

Sorry, it is a 1967 four door. I believe the model designation is 2000 perhaps 2000ti? Not really sure about the numbers. Steve

Hmmm a Neue Klasse four-door. I think if real and in good condition, $4k may be fair. Look where 2002 prices are. What would you do with it? That's the real question.

It’s not mine. Coincidentally it is located in my neighborhood and would be happy to go look at it if somebody is truly interested but would ask that you first reach out to the owner. Looks like the CL ad has a phone number.

That is also my neighborhood and in 10 years here I’ve never seen it. And it’s not a large area... I’m out of town until 1/2 so I can’t offer any help until after that time.

A 2000 TiLUX was almost my first BMW. I really liked that car but it had a dent in the driver side C pillar that bothered me. This car reminds me of it.
A friend had one for a few years but was afraid to drive it because of the scarcity of parts for it.

There is only one car for sale in this thread.
By saying it was "for sale by him" he meant near him, it's not his car.

I had an 1800 which I thought was pretty neat, but parts were hard to find for it 25 years ago
I put a 2002 transmission in it because I couldn't get the original fixed (broken gear)
But still would like another
