2000c part query

An old guy here in Perth has a 2000c that he's owned since 1984 . I know "zero" about this model save for the common parts to the E9 but trying to help him out . Anyway, he needs the RH door latch mechanism which I note is unique to this model. The LH side mechanism failed some years ago and he substituted with E9 mechanism which meant the door was butchered but I guess it was more about necessity at the time rather than aesthetics. Hope someone can assist or advise if other options exist. Cheers, Simon
 
Hmmm... the 2000CS door latch is different from the later e9 ? I didn't know that.

actually, the early Coupe is designated an e120, but that is an obscure detail. :)

There are plenty of parts in Germany, I'd bet someone has a proper door latch for you.

Thanks Ed, btw , very sorry about Papa, seemed like a very gentle soul ( like my mother who passed about 2 weeks ago ) . I guess I need to broaden my knowledge on the earlier model...you're doing a fantastic job on the "Church" car and looking forward to what will no doubt be a great tribute . Simon
 
Different part numbers but they sure look the same.

The 2000 sedan is a model 120, the coupe is a model 121, no E back then. The 2002 was a model 114 and became the e10 around 73. Just more useless trivia.
