Today was a special day as it marked the first day back in service for our CS in nearly 10 years. What was supposed to be a relatively quick restoration took a back seat to life. Looking back, it's probably the only way this project could have been done given available time, money and resources. Special thanks go out to so many of you on this board for your ideas, tips, tricks and spares. Better photos to follow soon but for now, here's our CS at Cars 'n Coffee in Danville, CA at the Blackhawk Auto Museum parking lot this morning...

Looks like you got all the details. Beautiful. Hopefully the air filters are coming soon.

I have been privileged to witness this restoration over the past 4 years. Very meticulous!
The photos do not do justice to the work. It is simply beautiful!
Tom, is it any quieter than the last time I heard it?

Thank you all... I'm so glad to have it back on the road again and I'm enjoying the shake down process!

It's hard for me to even say this but with the end of one project, comes the start a new one! I found a one owner '74 2002tii in original condition that needs a bit of TLC inside and out to be a clean survivor.

I wasn't even looking for it but here we go again!

No, it's the belt line trim that was wrapped and protected for shipping.

This is a case where the prior owner decided he wanted to start stripping the car to clean it up but never completed the job. He got so far as removing trim, mirrors and signal lights plus some other bits like sunroof deflector and antenna.

I have multiple boxes of parts and spares to go through to bring this car back to life again! Looking forward to learning what these 2002's are all about...

2002s are the hundred piece puzzle, Coupes are the thousand piece puzzle.

Go to amazon and search "BMW 2002" buy the red haynes manual and the Mike Macartney book, read Mikes' book twice. You'll be ready to tackle just about everything with the '02. If it's a Tii buy a new Kfish drive belt and replace the old one. Call Blunt for parts, 952-473-7278.

Love the 100 pieces analogy... So true. The '02 seems like a toy in comparison to the coupe! Thanks for the tips, I'll ramp up on my reading...
