2800 CS Ignition Switch - Desperate...

Desperately looking for a complete ignition switch assembly for my '71 E9.

Yes, I know I can buy the electrical portion or the key/tumbler portion, but the center cylindrical lock assembly was brutalized by a previous owner and I haven't been able to find one.

Anybody out there? New or used? I hate the idea of having different keys for ignition and doors so it would be awesome to find a complete lock set.

Thanks for the link. I just messaged him to see if it is still available and to confirm if it includes the steering wheel lock, not just the key/tumbler portion.

I don't know if the later version will work, I don't have one to compare it to. I'm also not aware of anyone using the later model setup instead. If you know of that to be possible without much modification please let me know!

If the later version were a direct bolt on wouldn't RealOEM say it was superseded to another part number? It just says no longer available.

I used an e12 locking mechanism in my 69 NK sedan, I believe it will work in your e9 as well.

My buddy Ethan has a complete lock set for sale for a fair price, along with a complete adjustable column and cover from a '76 3.0SI. According to the forum, the column fits e9's. The column also has the stalks on it. I will PM his cell.
