2800 Motor

Anyone with a sharp eye recognize anything unique about our motor? I am in the assembly process which is the fun part. Perhaps Don will spot it first.

it looks like you have an e28 alternator / PS bracket

Nope, that's the early style M10 bolt bracket.

It is less shiny than DQs?

Is it the shape of the engine block in this area?

Seems more recessed

No, it's the oil pan. I've been told early oil pans had a sloped front shape which caused oil starvation issues, there is no large baffle inside either. BMW replaced these pans but ours was not, date stamp is 1969. These parts were tumbled and clear ceramic coated.
