2800CS front brake rotors

I knew finding new brake rotors for my 2800CS would not be easy, but it ended up being more of a hassle than I anticipated. I found Rock Auto had 3 Raybestos rotors, but all other brands were sold out. I ordered 2 of the Raybestos rotors trusting them indicating they would fit my 2800CS and the picture matched my rotors. When they arrived, they looked nothing like my rotors and were designed to fit on the outside of the hub over the lugnut studs. Mine are bolted to the inside of the hub flange. The boxes they were in where all tapped up like they had been sent out a time or two and returned. I went through their return system, and it was concluded that I ordered the right thing but since they were told by the manufacturer that they were correct for my application, they made no mistake and I would have to pay for the return of them. I would not get a refund unless I agreed to that. I am working with My CC card company now to resolve that.

I did find a couple more Raybestos rotors 1 ea. from two different companies. I was assured they would fit my application, so I ordered them. I have very little confidence they will fit but I have no choice other than adapting to 3.0CS brakes. I really do not want to do that. My rotors are still good but too close to the minimum to resurface.
 
Jim doesn't know where to get them either. We discussed it when I got brake pads from him.

I have had some issues with Rock Auto in the past, but this is the first time I got the wrong part.
 
rockauto has been listing the wrong part number / product on e9 brakes for a while. the only company selling e9 rotors in the USA that i have found, is dynamic friction (made in china). even maximillian sells dynamic friction rotors.
 
The 2800 CS rotors seem to be the same as the 3.0CS rotors. Mounted to the inside of the hub using 5 hex socket head bolts. I got replacements from W-N together with he correct bolts
 
I considered going to the 3.0 CS rotors but i don't like the idea of breaking the calipers open to install the spacers. If may be my only option unless I can find some dynamic friction rotors that fit my 2800CS.

I am looking to see if I can buy them directly from dynamic friction. I also checked my rotors closer, and it looks like I have enough material to resurface mine. My Coupe will be disabled for a while until I get this resolved.
 
20 years since I resurfaced a rotor- German steel doesn't seem to like it and -
They are 65 bucks brand new... why oh why would you make 2 round trips to a shop and pay $60 for the lowest paid employee at O'reillys
to booger up your rotors?

no pricing, but its chinese. ECS shows BMW rotors for 360 bucks for a set with a date of 12 sept ... which won't arrive since they are NLA.

i would buy from Stefan and get German product for a reasonable price - 159 euro / set. so 60 euro each plus shipping and tariff.

I don't go to O'Reilly's to get my rotors turned. My brother is a professional mechanic and has a resurfacing machine. The drawback is he is in Kansas and I am in CA. Fortunately, I will be there in a few weeks for an event on a ghost track that I participate in every year. Cost to me is $0 for turning the rotors.

I have a Ford Ranger with 312K miles on it. I have two sets of rotors that alternate getting turned so I have a fresh set every time I do a brake job. Those two rotors are all I have used from day one when I bought the Ranger new. I have never had a problem with the turned rotors because I use reliable sources.

I may still 'click mouse and open the box' as a backup since these rotors are getting harder to find.
