I am surprised not to see this one already posted. If it is, please delete this post.

"We have a 1970 BMW 2800cs for sale. This car is running great mechanically (V8 SWAP), exterior is in great shape no dents or scratches. Interior is in good condition with no tears or stains. Feel free to contact me at any time with your inquires. SERIOUS BUYERS PLEASE."

I've never understood how an ad can be run for cars like this with a MAJOR change to the car and highlighted as a selling point but no photos are provided. First thing I think of is that they're not very proud of the work.

I posted this while back. v8 swap is what caught my eye. I bet it is a 327 Chevy . What a horrible thing to do with any E9. He should be court marshaled if my guess is correct!

total scam guys.

Fair assumption but hint spidey sense was wrong on this one Teahead.

Ford Windsor 351. Lots of potential but I'm guessing that this anchor is putting out no more than 250hp. Why?????

not a horrible car to be honest. car looks pretty straight and complete.

Yeah, replacing a very reliable engine with one that has a little more but comes with a lump is kinda confusing. The car seems pretty nice though and should be considered without the engine as getting close to its value...

Agreed on both accounts. It doesn't appear that the trans tunnel or firewall has been modified. It's honestly worth a look at $17K.

I have more pics...

351 Windsor... definitely wouldn't have been my first choice. Probably wouldn't have been my 20th choice...same goes for those wheels.

Strut tops look good, as does the interior. Originally Sahara.. the most-resprayed color in BMW history :) I wonder what lurks under that paint job ??

You'd think they would at least clean the cobwebs and dust off the engine... puke.

I'm guessing the rectangular opening was an inspection hole to see the A-pillar?

....lovely electrical work... bleh

Tempting as an entry point into the E9 world for half of what CoupeKing's car sold for...would have to make it right though

Not that I'm interested in acquiring this car, but if I were, my biggest question would be whether the steering box, steering column, and tie rods were modified. It's tough to fit a wide V6 or V8 in a chassis designed for a narrow inline engine, without adding U-joints to the column and swapping the box for a rack. Yes, people have successfully solved this problem, but the builder of this particular car seems to have limited fabrication skills / poor attention to detail.

Someone make an offer on that 5 slat grille! CSL item correct?

Or was it just painted black?.....

the car was a cream color originally and it went to a prop shop and made into a prop for a movie, "need for speed" and was featured in 2014 or 2015. the car was in a scene for about 30 seconds or so.

I wonder if the prop shop did the V8 conversion.

Would also worry about how well they did the prep for the color change if the job only had to look good for 30 seconds.

If you wade through the Shutterfly photos, you'll see that the toolbox has two, red-handeled screwdrivers, and looks fairly complete. May have been a fairly decent car before that Ford wincer was installed.
