I’m little over an hour from Bridgeview IL. While I’m definitely not an expert I’ve studied our rust inspection posts and believe I know where to look and take pictures.

There was a guy in the Chicago area about 3 years ago or so that was unloading a bunch of E9 stuff. I wonder if this is the same guy, but kept this one in storage.

Are you thinking about @GK-E30M3 I have purchased parts from Chris in the past, and I think he is in this general area.

Popped up on Craigslist for $28,900. I don't know how to do the thing where you can save the Craigslist ad but here's the link...

Looks like a good deal at 28900 - can anyone go and look at it?

GK-E30M3 )Chris) who looked at it in 2017 has a Chicago address. He has sold parts to members and Coupe to Peter Coomerswamy. You could ask Peter if he recommends Chris.

Curious (not that I'm buying) but besides the seats, was the rest of it in good/bad shape?

Where is the trim from the windshield and rear window? And even if this thing runs, I wouldn't drive further than around the block on the "80%" Chinese economy radial tires.

What I don't understand is where the tool set went on these. 99% of people did not service their own E9's when new so? I know Drew Gregg was lucky enough to find a red handled screw driver in that abyss under the front seat but that is rare. Alternate is I got a entire set from a guy who no longer had the car. I scratch my head.

Those tools are expensive novelties aren't they.... Comparitivly junk compared to your average screwdriver today.

I'm a little confused. The ad on Craigslist shows a barn find, the ad on Ebay shows a decent car. The Ebay ad says:

Recently performed :New rear drums, shoes, wheel cylinder, all brake lines+ hoses, master cylinder repair, front new brake calipers, brake pads, rotors resurfacing. New clutch master cylinder + sleeve cylinder+ new hose line.
New spark plugs , wires, ignition coil.
Fuel tank reconditioning
Fresh engine oil+ filter
Carburetor cleaning+ reseal
Restored all mechanism between gas pedal and carburetor
All seats were re done
I am waiting for right front turn signal and side window moldings from Germany. They should arrive in 6 days.
There are also some extra parts that come with this vehicle.

Are we talking about two different cars or was the barn find cleaned up?
