Untested. Missing cover. No mention of coming from a running car (or even a dead car) being parted. I have to wonder if this unit didn't already give someone a problem... That is maybe brain dead;)

FWIW, You can have them rebuilt for $400. The one that I just sold is on its way to being reconditioned now.

From what I've heard these ECUs are actually pretty problem free. My comment was that i would have concerns about buying one that has been sitting around and may have been removed at some point due to a problem. Markos, out of curiosity is the one you sold being reconditioned due to a problem -or doing something prophylactic? Sent back to Bosch or other specialist?

Preventative although mine was untested. I don't know the name if the organization that reconditions, but I can put you in touch with the buyer (forum member) if needed. He's active on all of the d-jet threads.

No problems now, just curious. Perhaps your buyer may share anything he learns through the reconditioning... If a problem unit can be fixed for $400, some fears may be allayed.

He has a reconditioned one already, so this will be extra reconditioned brain #2. A good insurance policy (and investment). for these old cars.
