It was a boyhood dream of mine to own an e9 coupe since the “Hans Stuck” poster hung in my bedroom. Right around the holidays I lost my job and have yet to find another. All of this has forced me to put my car up for sale.
The car is listed in the Register and was sold new in Switzerland in late 1972. It was originally Polaris and is now Fjord Blue. I am not sure when and where it was painted. I purchased it from someone on this board back in November after it sat in Tennessee for over twenty years. It was trailered home and the work began.
Being out of work allowed me to get a lot of work done;
BMW 3.0 CSi Repairs done
Install rebuilt brake calipers
Install new caliper hardware
Install new brake master cylinder
Install new flexible brake lines
Install four new hard lines for brakes
Rebuild brake compensator
Replace brake resevoir lines
R&R gas tank, have boiled, and repaint
Repair electric fuel pump
Restore fuel accumulator
Replace all fuel lines and filter
Drain all motor oil & replace
Restore coolant expansion tank
Replace vacuum hose to brake booster
Replace instrument cluster hood
Replace instrument lights with LED bulbs
Fabricate right side kick panel
Replace right front window regulator
Adjust right door & window fit
Replace door catch plastic
Rebuild arm rest and mounts (RS)
Fabricate new rear package shelf
Clean and condition all leather in rear seating area
Re-glue glove box door
Purchase used glove box lock w/key
Re-glue left side under dash panel
Complete the tool kit
Install 4 16” basket weave wheels
Install and balance 4 205/55 16” Dunlop tires
Purchase “Blue Book” repair manual
Repaint heater control panel
Purchase spare tire jack
Purchase new leather shifter boot
Purchase new vent window knob
Purchase new guibo joint for driveshaft
Replace fuel supply tubing
Replace ignition wires
I am currently retorquing the cylinder head and adjusting valves, replacing fuel manifold hoses, and repairing the cold start system (sensor). I have receipts for everything.
Asking price is $7500 and the car is located in Savannah, GA. It has some rust but is very restorable.
PM me for more info and pictures. i have located a Getrag 265 and could install for the new owner separate from the sale.
