Attached are two photos of my 3.0 placard. The mounting pins are pretty gnarly. I don't know how they would have been fastened to t he deck lid but it looks like I would have to drill and tap these pins?

Any thoughts?

Yes I bought those and there is no way they will fit over my pins also they included only 4 in the packet and the two emblems require 5.
 
They are bought / priced per piece, you can order as many as you want..... at least as seen on the German site. Purpose is to insure no water seeps thru
 
Older/factory one have thicker pins, later OEM's have thinner pins.

p.s. If you need NEW OEM BMW aluminium 3.0 E9 badge (not any repro) with thinner pins - i have new, never used one for sale.
