3.0CS 1971 $69K Junk in the trunk.....

They spend a fortune "modernizing" an interior that didn't need it, then leave the driver's seat looking like a beanbag chair...

It used to be an e9 but no longer, now it is an abomination. Just look at the dash and cluster, holes in bumpers and bumper guards but no rubber trim, very sad.

It's serial number is 93 before mine and mine was made in July 1970, so this is another one that's carrying the wrong year. USA model too.
Yes, it's a sad car. I guess there isn't a car out there that people won't 'customize'. I hate the slammed look. It looks broken to me.

this is one of those times where you can't expect to get anywhere near the amount of money invested out of the car. i have no problem with somebody wanting to make a personal statement and build what they really want. but i agree with Chris - this is no longer an e9 coupe.

I don't have a problem with building a custom either. It isn't as if this was the last 2800CS on the planet.

BUT when you build an abomination like that, you should plan to hang on to it. The odds of finding a buyer who has the same taste (or lack thereof) is pretty slim.

i have toyed with the idea of doing some custom interior items ... but not straying so far away from the starting point. the idea of a custom leather console that extends to the back seat ... with a center front seat arm rest incorporated in ... still with the stock a/c console plate. many have seen the ideas of a unique leather top panel of the door / side cards ... front seatbelts similar to Paul Cain's, utilizing e24 front belts. perhaps a slight contemporary revamp of the existing that maintains e9 sophistication. we will see if i ever do it ... but it would be NOTHING like this thing ... and nothing that couldn't easily be undone.

....I think this is why we were collectively referred to as "stuffed shirts" recently LOL . Ironically, this is one of the most well known E9's (just saying ). I have always lusted after those rims .
