After a run of cars that were all needing more or less work, here’s one that looks like it checks all of the boxes - upgraded engine, 5-speed, AC - and in quite nice driving condition. I know a few have been looking for this spec, perhaps this is the one

Will say that the only part of this car that seems out of place is the underside, all just looks like surface rust but seems that it would have been easy to dry ice blast, rust treat and paint to have it looking gleaming. Well that and the completely empty tool tray!

This looks to be a near twin of my car (@sfdon can comment) - Mine started out as a 2.8L but I had the brakes upgraded to the later variety and the entire car was gone through during the 6 years Don had it.
I will be taking notes. Hope it does well he says selfishly.... :)

The tools are just out of the tray. Along with the period correct radio .

Love the Bailkal as well. Lots to like here; be interesting to see how the auction goes.

Any concern with the rust spots on the doors after having rust remediation work 18 years ago? Maybe these were spots that weren't addressed at the time?

You guys are too fast for me (as expected). Thanks for the comments and feedback so far! I think this is a solid car and a great driver with what I figure is the ultimate drivetrain in a coupe (I am an M90 fan).

Uter and I want the car to find the right home so I guess we will find out Friday!

This is a great car for the new owner to drive and enjoy. Plenty to do to make it better, but great bones to enjoy and improve over time. You know the SFDon driveline is above reproach.
