3rd Brake Light

good question guys. the fact of the matter is, it is made to go in a wing, hence the screws. but if you can put one on with an adhesive strip, you could put the other one on that way too. you would just have to attach it to the light first. i will try to measure my car + see what i think can fit w/o looking too funny

here's another question, where do we buy them and how much? the company is from down under. maybe one of our members down there can help facilitate this. i guess we can contact them and ask for dealers up here.

Looks like scott will need to write up the instructions!
My headline may be coming out as part of a repaint. optimum time to install if I can figure out how.

Maybe the 84654BL might be easier since it is designed to affix with 3M adhesive strips.

If we could agree on a style maybe we could get a group purchase price...

Thoughts?

if you are considering replacing the headliner, I had an upholstery shop in SF make a custom one out of suede (and cover the visors as well). Total cost was under $1000 including parts and labor, which seemed very reasonable. Unless you are going for an original look, in which case this wouldn't work at all.

Scott,
I would go with the thinnest one available. If we can find a place to get a price it would be good..

No, just thought others might be interested in how it mounts off the window seal.

Clean your lenses/ relectors/ change your bulbs. Check for resistance which is a bigger issue than most think.

I tend to stay far in front or get the hell out of the way of big objects moving at high speed.

Cautionary Tale: I cleaned the tail light lenses, new bulbs and renewed the reflectors with shiney silver tape. I was in the very small town of Portsmouth NH, stopped at a light with plenty of room in front and a car behind me.
The light is still red and the guy behind me decides to GO!! Right into my coupe!!! Naturally, he has no insurance.

If I had the third brakelight would he have paid attention?
Who knows but the expense and PIA of finding a 73 rear bumper, loss of car to fix etc, makes me want to give it a try. Only because that Narva light is so unobtrusive.

Third Light

I'm overseas at present, returning to Australia in a couple of weeks. I'm willing to buy and forward Narva parts then....

Response from Adam in Australia

If you mean the 84670, then I just got a price of $90. Australian and US dollars are currently the same. I've spoken with Narva, and that is the thinnest unit they do.

shown at* http://www.narva.com.au/products/de...al=true&parent=led-truck-trailer-popup-layout

I went to Narva's office today and they showed me one: it looks excellent and I wish I'd known about it when I did mine. Of its type, It's the best you'll be able to get.

Let me know what you'd like me to do.

Guys, let's come to a decision. I will send Adam and email if you want to go forward.
Please PM with your email address and mailing address. We can send money PayPal once he determines the shipping cost per person.

i got my light in yesterday ... it looks great!

many thanks to Adam for taking care of this and sending us the Narva lights. he packaged them beautifully in a tube ... truly first class

as soon as my car gets out of the shop, i will start looking at mounting it.

Post some pics of the install please

This is the 3rd brake light solution I like best and described earlier in this thread. Wires are run under the rear window rubber, to the parcel shelf, under the shelf, through an access hole, under the shock tower welting, around the gas tank to the tail light & ground.
