Sat turned into a long day.
We had a great group ride from Sacramento to Berkeley Marina. The place was packed with cars mostly euros. My plan was to go on a ride into the Marin headland, I payed my toll at the SF / Bay bridge then rolled off and boom no go.

this happened

This is the adj rod from the clutch pedal to the clutch master.
I found a replacement and i will weld the broken one. Have any of you used a different adjuster?

had a similar thing happen to me in my '76 2002. luckily it was after i had started off and was getting ready to shift into 2nd ... so i just kept driving slow into a parking space. then waited for the tow truck.

All is good now, home and repaired.
Here is the worst part. The Caltrans tow truck driver. A swell guy :-(

He told me if i had a bumper he was obligated to "push" me as far as it took to get to a safe spot.

Not your normal tow truck, this was a Beast.

The same thing broke on my 76' 2002 also a few years ago. Went to 2002AD and they wanted $20 for that used eye bolt. Back then the complete cylinder new with the bolt was only $40 so I kindly refused their amazing deal of $20 for a used 30 year old bolt that would fail sooner than later.

bumperless

that story is almost enough to make me go bumperless. that beast of a tow-truck pushing on my precious, fragile, little back bumper, that is directly attached to my fragile rear body panel?!?! hell no! given a choice, i think id be on the side of the road with my tools taking the bumper OFF!
