hey folks, one of my switches just failed and I need to replace. I recall seeing 5 round pin connector window switches on eBay from time to time but not today. Anyone have a functional one for sale with decent plastic chrome? thanks

How so? Usually they are robust, can be taken apart and cleaned and brought back to life.

It’s the chrome that is not robust.

New is available from the dealer for 62.00

yes, my chrome is blistering and the switch itself is crooked now which prevents solid contact -- too much work for me to restore this right now...

and sometimes the car gods help us out. While rummaging through my spare E9 parts today, I found this bag of 3 switches with one looking operational but with a poor plastic chrome bezel -- but there is also a new looking bezel in there without a switch. I will combine these two orphan parts and hopefully have a solution! What's the trick to getting the bezel off the switch itself that has those two metal friction sleeves on the side? And there's a spare CS badge in the bag too...

and another insight with credit due to BavBob from an older post - one of the switches in my bag is marked 001-821-51-51 and that is an R107 and other older Mercedes-Benz model window switch that looks identical to the BMW part 61311356006. I just bought one on ebay for $45 (NOS) just in case my other used switch doesn't work.
