Rey Rivera picked one up this past August at an auction during Car Week, his is red and it is stunning in person, I love the gauges.

Are Glas parts pretty hard to find?

There is a Glas Club is based in Germany which publishes a magazine & website. There is a worldwide wealth of knowledge. Some parts are available though not in great quantities.

Glas & BMW GT Glas variants have a fairly small following in the States as not many were sold through most likely Max Hoffmann. Hoffmann, over his career of importing, represented something like 83 different automobile manufacturers with varying degrees of success. BMW being the most successful. Max’s exit deal with BMW AG & NA paid him for every BMW produced until 1988, according to Jackie Jouret’s research of the BMW archive in Germany.

I toured the former Glas/Gogomobile factory in Dingolfing 20 years ago....except E39s were being made then. Dingolfing is a town of about 20,000 and over an hour on the Autobahn from Munich. I wonder where they get/got their workforce?

Very cool car. Description says It was originally Chamonix. Somebody thought it was a good idea to change the color to olive green metallic but leave the interior blue. A change to black or tan interior would look much better IMHO.
