'71 E9 2800cs (auto) in Los Gatos

Outside looks good, but if those headlight access covers, air cleaner, and top of radiator is THAT rusty, imagine what hidden stuff that may be lurking???

Well, here we go again. Important photos and details are lacking. Owner claims NO major rust. Could probably be had for $25,000. And yes, the headlight access covers and rad are rusty. But if undercarriage and fender photos hold up this is still a complete E9 coupe at a bargain price. Just like the Malaga, a much better car, that sold for $30,000. on BaT.

Again, what will we be saying in five or so years when the market recovers.

I agree with CSteve; it could be an OK deal. The buyer needs to verify the statement: "There is zero structural rust, and really minor cosmetic rust", since rust is seldom so cooperative as to just attack non-structural areas.

The exterior looks pretty good, but underhood it's a bit sad. Interior is hard to assess.

I called on the original owner of this car. Would not give much information on it.

This is the car with what seemed to be mold on the drivers side

Ragmalibu, I am following up on this car. Just sent an email to the seller with a long list of what I need to know, see. Anymore clarification of the "mold on the driver's side" Did he say anything else? PM me if you wish.

Steve

Heard back from the seller. This a Project Car nothing more. With its needs it may be a parts car. He is honest and forthcoming with lots of information, descriptions and photos. If anyone is interested PM me.

I tried to go see it , it was just north of Frisco but when I’d ask about rust he’d ghost me .

Not sure why it was his dad’s car and he also had CSI that he said was rusty. Never had a chance to view it no matter how much I tried

This person apparently bought it after he re-listed it on Craigslist.

North of San Francisco. I would ask, the last owner, not the guy currently selling it , about the moisture that seemed to have hit the drivers side and about possible rust, then he’d stop answering my texts

AT the time, he was open to sell it at $24k

I think he was willing to go lower. But he out some work into it i believe to get it running better after that .
