Ad says “garage kept” but there sure is a lot of surface rust and oxidized aluminum under the hood. Even the instrument bezels are rusting. While Mill Valley can be foggy, my guess is it spent time in a coastal environment. Looks decent but usual suspect areas need closer inspection.

I used to live in Mill Valley and it is one of those areas, kind of like Santa Cruz as far as the weather, shade from large redwood trees, moisture, and proximity to the ocean. Like you mentioned, even if garage kept I would be very suspect there is much more going on than seller says regarding rust, oxidation, motor mounts, bushings, seals etc. should all be inspected thoroughly in person before deciding to take on this project. I think with the condition, a 2800 and an auto, that the owner is being a tad bit optimistic on price, especially in current market. I don't think those wheels fit at all but that's probably the easiest fix.

Agree about the wheels. My bigger concern is mold and mildew. I wonder what he used on the mold covered interior and trunk? I am sure they were chemicals, "Known to the State of CA to cause terminal cancer, heart disease, and eczema." My favorite product warning from the Golden State.

No shots of the underside, or inside firewall. With that much moisture locked up inside that the cluster bezels are rusted would make me think that it sat with some holes in the floorboards that caused the carpets to get wet. Lots of things to be concerned about here.
