Just picked up this running and driving 1972 Bavaria in Eastern Washington. Car was originally purchased in Utah, and lived its entire life in the Tri-Cities area until its recent 225 mile relocation to the other side of the mountains. Car was single owner (tons of documentation, diary, receipts, BMW CCA member) all the way through 2002 until it passed hands a few times until 2017 where it sat neglected.
Pretty stoked to dig and bring some life back into this old girl. The plan is to make it a sweet daily driver, keep it as original as possible w/in a reasonable budget, and eventually pass it onto one of my kids once they are old enough to drive (hopefully carbs are still legal by then).
Been busy the first couple of weeks with a full interior and exterior details, basic maintenance and waiting on new parts to refresh the obvious items. Seem to be having an issue with my turn indicator lamps, might have narrowed it down to a temperamental wheel stalk switch b/c I can get them to flicker when the stalk is at just the right spot. Thoughts? Red hazard button also has some challenges staying depressed, but can get it to stay.
Anyways, keen to get involved here on the forum and learn a lot from those with experience. Prost!
