72 CSI Project Roller on Ebay

If that was local, I'd snag it for $3k. There's at LEAST that much in parts. I could really use the rear trailing arms/disk brake setup.

;)

But it looks savable. It's a CSI, so won't lose TOO much money if you do a full out $60k restoration.

It'd require a media blast, body work, then acid dip, galvanize dip, then a ton of parts. Hmm...maybe more like a $75k restoration, but heck, if this sucker can get $100k+, then maybe not be too bad then.

Wow, that's worse than my e3 for $900!

im just going to assume you meant e9, and not e3. because an e3 has 4 doors and the desirability isnt even close to that of a 3.0csi, lol

Cheers. I get alot of those concours resto guys stating that. I think we all know if you plan on restoring a car, you start with the right car. And that car will be $12,000 - $15,000. I planned on just welding it up and stripping it (whats left) and making a driver out of it, but i don't see that happening anytime soon with my vw project. This is a rare opportunity for someone like me who cant afford a $15,000 car then dumping another $50,000 into it. I've come to learn that alot of coupe guys dont like to do their own work. I'll get another e9 one day, hopefully theyre not too expensive then. I have a 2000cs here, and while considered the ugly duckling to most...their unique characteristics really just do something for me.
