Check out this CS now on BAT offered by 911r. His cars are usually pretty sweet. Will be fun to watch this one! :)

glad to see some new information on this car. it lived in Eugene, OR by John Potter, and in 1985 it was owned by Jim Chambers in OR. later it lived in Klamath Falls, CA = end of early trail

Love the body matched BBS wheels, hate the momo steering wheel.

Anybody have thoughts on the strut towers? Looks like those metal rings that are used for a strut tower brace, but there is no brace. Why would somebody add those?

They are the spacers supplied on North American models. They were installed on top of the strut to raise the front end slightly to meet DOT specs. Someone has removed them from the top of the strut to lower the front end. They installed them here so they didn't have to shorten the bolts.

looks like some sound insulation stuck on the fender tops - not dynamat, but something like that ... and not a good installation.

Does this car have the OEM York A/C compressor? My car has a VIN very close to this one,and the York compressor was a rotary design. It was removed when the SFDon A/C system was installed.

Something goofy going on with the wheels. They don't look like 16 inch BBS RSs to me, which would be RS006s. If they are real BBSs, they have been stepped up from 15s or maybe even 14s. The waffles look wrong too.

I do really like the color of the car.

Drew, Your coupe was built in Feb 1973, way before the axial compressor was available on the 74 coupes. Both of my coupes are May 1973 and had the York compressor.

Good call on the wheels. The waffles are definitely different from BBS - more waffle with a smaller nut. Seller updated that they are OZ Vegas.

I recently bought a set of BBS RS005s. They need a restoration, but the price was right. To me the lip/waffle ratio looks similar to these, as does the shape of the lips? Here they are when I test fit them on the coupe:

Edit: I just did some more “scientific” measuring and you are indeed right @vince the OZs on this car have more lip and a smaller diameter mesh center than the BBS RS005

OZ wheels…are those tires ancient or are they making them again? Hate the photos, look fake to me but guess that is what folks like.

they are making P7 again - only in a few sizes. 205/55-16 + 225/50-16 ... those were used on the porsche 930. yes, 911r always has overproduced photos ... and yes they tend to look fake.

Agreed on the photos. Take a look at the spare tire well photos that were just added...
