I just read through this--one of the more frustrating auctions I've read in a while. I don't think the seller was a huge jerk, but he wasn't prepared temperamentally or with evidence to calm the peanut gallery. It seems like it could possibly be worth more, but the location was a problem. All of the sea air instant destruction talk and the difficulty of inspecting increased the risks for higher bids. I thought the rust comments were a little overwrought given there were no clear paint bubbles or the like, but you've got to have a strategy for dealing with those things selling on BAT.
