73 csl

I took a look at this one because it's nearby. I don't want to diss the dealer because he was a nice guy but the car is pretty rough for $80,000+. He said he had two offers for it above $80,000 (must be local) but will keep me posted if they fall thru. I think my car looks better.

I didn't ask to look under the hood but I did check to find that the fender holes were clean and dry. Didn't seem to have any sill issues either.

However, wrong mirrors, "hood pins" from a 1969 Plymouth, rear speakers but no radio, broken air vents. Way way too much Armourall. A number of small things that shouldn't be on an expensive car as this.

What is the delta value increase for a genuine CSL over a regular CSi? If it's really $40,000 for a comparable model, then maybe this is OK. Just don't know

Edit: Looks like it's the real deal. Wonder how it got to Houston from Monaco?

I think buyer from Long Island bought it in Monaco (for 68k), had it for a year. Offered at Long Island dealer for 99k. It sat. Sold to Houston dealer.

Is there any way to update the registry without being the owner? Add somethong like "seen/sold in Houston, TX, 4/25/13"?

I'll swing by tomorrow if I get a chance and see what finally happened. But yes, I've put my eyes on it so it is, as of 4/28/13, in North Houston.
