74 Seatbelt Retractor Repair

Good Afternoon! The retractor on for the passenger side front seat belt on my 74 coupe has failed. It looks like the spring which causes the unit to retract the belt has rusted out and broken. I know "BlueDevils" offers a repair service, but I was wondering if anyone had luck with just replacing the spring themselves? I'm not super concerned with originality when it comes to safety gear, so if there is a replacement belt setup that will mount in the proper position (on its side vertically) I'd be interested in hearing about that as well.

I will join many who may follow with the same recommendation. BlueDevils will do a good repair (and replacement of the webbing if needed/wanted). He refurbished both sides on my '74, and they work perfectly, look like new.

Especially important way to solve it if you really want to keep originality - in my opinion.
