Had to take my front seats out, again, and wondered what the electrical wires and connections on the underside of the bottom section are for?Never saw any corresponding wires on body of car.Something to do with the seat belts?

Was your car ever an automatic? My '02 was and it took a long time before I found out (5spd and recaro conversion) there is an interlock on the ignition circuit with the auto that tied the seatbelt nanny to the start position on the ignition switch.

I have those unconnected wires also and figured it tied into the seatbelt light on the dash.

The wires are indeed for seat belt,"switch safety belt warning".Also found in 2002's,E12's and E3's.So out they go!
