Good morning, Bill Gares life long car lover. In the early days most of my cars were domestics. My first German car was a well used 80 MB 300sd,followed by a 96 MB 300D, 2010 Audi A6 and now recently a 74 BMW Bavaria which has many needs. I’m a Family man who loves to cook, and tinker with cars. I appreciate any help, advise in bring my Bavaria to a decent occasional driver. Thank you all
 
Post some pics and a list of items you’re trying to accomplish! Also, use google to search the forum rather than the search bar above which doesn’t allow any 3-letter words (arm, nut, tie, lug, etc) in its searches, making it a bit more difficult

Here’s a few pics, my not so short short list. NOS or aftermarket radiator, front and rear windshield seals( some I’ve seen some outrageous$$$), side view mirrors. And whatever it takes to get the engine running properly, tune Zenith carbs, spark plugs and consider replacing points with electronic ign., check for vacuum leaks. replace or re-key doors and truck lid locks. repair or replace driver side window regulator( manual). The car Sat for about 10 yrs. The previous did a rebuild on the engine, early 2000s. Although it runs rough it’s very quite no valve lifter noise!

Good thing there is no lifter noise as you don’t have any! Change plugs and wires, Pertronix is a good choice, and all fuel hoses (a search here will help you). Good luck!
 
You could also have your existing, original radiator recored by a local shop. The front and rear windshield seals are going to be tough. Periodically, aftermarket producers run small batches of both. Keep turning over rocks in your hunt. Develop relationships with enthusiasts here and especially in Europe where these cars are most popular. If the car has been sitting for 10 years, the carbs will probably need more than tuning. Rebuild kits are available.

Reach out to @sfdon he will have many of the parts you need. Unfortunately all of us are falling victim to higher prices due to tariffs for any of the stuff we import. There's a good list of online shops that stock some of these parts in the FAQ that some members (@HB Chris and @rsporsche I believe) have helped put together.

Getting old and not thinking this early 70s engine is a OHC, never the less she’s quiet. Thanks for the tips!
