Like many others, my a/c blower switch is very dodgy, it operates on full blow and is Chernobyl like on any other setting, really not the best design.
I heard a rumour that there may be an alternative electronic replacement/substitute for this old NLA switch, does anyone out there know of anything?

There is a mechanical unit available. Also the late oem unit is available but pretty pricey.
Last I heard was 250.00 for New Old Stock. They haven’t been made in 26 years.

Can you elaborate on the mechanical unit, I 'd prefer not to use an original switch, it's a fire hazard!

Have you tried cleaning the rheostat with electronic cleaner and fine sand paper? Worked for me.

Yes mine has cracked ceramic. I found an early E21 switch, it has 4 pins (the extra 31 pin) but looks like it would work? Still would prefer a electronic alternative if anyone is aware of anything suitable?
