A/C blower switch

I opened up my switch. Pay close attention to how it comes apart. IIRC it is a couple of "tiers:" one for the rheostat and the other is the on/off switch mechanism. Everything has to line up correctly on re-assembly. The whole shebang is held together with aluminum rivets which are easy to drill out. Problem is what to use to replace them; I haven't found (yet) rivets that are thin and long like the originals. I don't think epoxy would work. Any suggestions?

Long/thin machine screws and nut? Or a less preferable method would be what i did for the headlight switch - jb weld and zip ties.
