My car is on the lift. The gearbox is out. The small hose which is supposed to exit in the transmission tunnel, above the gearbox is missing.
Question: where does the drain tube come from?
If I take off the side panels, and pull out the A/C front grille, I ought to be able to connect the tube, but to where????

Digging into the wealth of information on this board, I have now understood that there isn´t a tube at all. Rather some sort of rubber "donut".

I will return to the garage, half an hour away, this morning. Is the donut attached like a rubber grommet, or with screws or...??? What work can be done to avoid water trickling down on the sides of the transmission tunnel, wetting the carpets ??

Looking from below, there seems to be 2 layers of sheet metal: transmisison tunnel and a second, inner layer of sheet metal??

Any other tips at this stage, before I install the new gearbox?

Very useful. Thank you!
What I don´t get is that the white Parts Book says 3x of these "donuts" per car........
I can understand that one would fit above the gearbox, but the other 2..??
