Could anyone out there be kind enough to tell me the dimensions of an e9 A/C faceplate, as I wish to be sure the item I have in my possession is the genuine article.. mine is 265mm across the top , 180mm each side, and tapers down to 190mm at the bottom.... the opening for the radio has obviously been tapered with (made bigger) probably seemed like a good idea in the 90's for a later model , CD etc... Anyway if someone has original A/C with the correct OEM face greatly appreciate a confirmation..

ps. this face has the 6 grills and smaller than E3 face and different shape.. I have an e3 face so have been able to compare... I believe this is an e9 face , been want to be absolutely sure.. many thanks

attached is photo of Faceplate as described previously

Your dimensions are correct.

I recently fixed my AC using the original evaporator and everything else was modern replacement stuff, Sanden, fan, condenser, etc. The results are great!

same

i made one from a piece of aluminum very easy to make then
cut the louvers out of the e3 and epoxied them to the center
then i used the 12point helvetica letraset to do the lettering as it is the exact font

Glad to know I have the e9 piece, shame the opening has been cut out to 190mm x 65mm .. I imagine this cast alloy can be welded/bonded? I can get a piece welded in to the opening and then "punch the two holes for the radio controls I guess

Thank you everyone for your help

it might be possible to back the panel with a sheet of aluminum to fill the hole, then apply a thin aluminum sheet over the lower portion that wraps to the plane below the louvers. the gap could be filled, then paint the entire panel as originally presented.

This is a semi-educated guess, but it looks like the radio that was in there may have been a Becker Mexico because that radio slides in through the front, not from behind the plate and then there are these clips, more like thin flat metal bars that hold the radio in place with some reverse pressure. If this sounds familiar I would be happy to send some pictures but the dealer installed Becker in my car left the same size hole in my dash.

German sellers..

...."adore" this mix-up between the types, on ebay.

I must admit often by ignorance (if it fits E3, it fits E9).

But it seems contagious over the Atlantic!.

Terrible virus..
