A/C faceplate paint

Hi all,
I've stripped my a/c faceplate and am looking for recommendations on how to duplicate the bumpy paint that was on it. It would also work for the steering column cover I would guess.
Ideas?

Anyone try trunk spatter paint and then spray a flat black over that?

why experiment vs. a tried and true approach. i wouldn't want to clean the splatter paint off to start over.

And it needs to be Satin black, not flat. I used this combo in my coupe and it was perfect.
