A few parts in the UK

Wow, I’ve never seen the red head on that cable before and the upright mount. Does anyone have one of these? Could it be a later superceded part?

Hey Simon.

I’ll take the leather gearstick surround if you want to sell it outside eBay.

re. The positive battery lead - do you remember why NEW doesn’t have an original one like this? Either way I might be interested in this too.

send me an email if you want to sell.

thanks,

Interesting, can you share a photo? What attaches to the vertical post? Thank you.
Let me see if I can dig one out.
(@Michael Kaye[/USER] is the owner now) so from memory the Main red cable goes straight to the starter motor. The vertical post carries the remainder of the Loom to the pos terminal

not sure if this helps. I’ll try and get a better picture later.

btw I’m also interested in both the leather surround and the cable too (I like the idea of NEW having an original cable again).

Now I am having doubts! I thought the terminal on my old car was red. Having looked at the pic supplied by Michael, I can see that the it is not. Did I ever change it? I really do not recall. Let me trawl the memory banks.
I can only suggest that I got this lead as a spare when a I had both an e3 and an e9 As the part number is the same. I suggest that BMW changed the terminal cover colour, rather like the screwdrivers which changed from red to green but kept the same part number.

Having had a long think and looking back through my rather sketchy records, I do seem to recall changing the actual top of the lead following a fracture of the original. I got a new battery clamp and a hydraulic crimp tool to replace the terminal on to the original cable, seemd to work well and when the new complete lead from BMW arrived I just put it on the shelf to change "as and when required" I never got around to it!

I also have various Cibie 40 lights on eBay ATM. A link to one pair is here. There are other.
To see what they look like mounted, have a look at some of Michael‘s posts regarding his NEW car!

Added a lot this morning.
Having a good clear out of e9/e3 stuff on UK eBay Click on the link in the first post and then click on sellers other items! You could get a cheap BMW bargain!

outbid on both auctions....shame for me considering these were parts that shared a garage with my car not so long ago.

Anyway has made me realise that I'm not going to bid on eBay auctions anymore. Rather pay more directly and do away with the whole stress of reloading, placing bids etc.

Well done to whoever won the auctions.

With eBay it’s best to place a bid that you don’t want to pay more than, that way you might get it for less but you won’t overpay. Constantly revising your bid never works, at least for me.
