The lack of rust proofing in our coupes is almost a cult status and after reading threads that frowned at the thought of washing a coupe and the prospect of watching it rust away have prevented me from bringing my project of the last two years a 74 reg CSL out on its first drive, a beautiful spring morning presented itself today and i decided this was my chance to bring my car on a 24km spin to work, the car handled perfectly and all was as it should be, i parked behind my office and went about my daily chores.
This is where things go horribly wrong!! at about 1pm the skies decided to unload a serious quantity of water, with me unable to move i had to wait until 5pm to bring my project through rush hour traffic in heavy rain, i had visions of water seeping into every cavity and untreated metalwork i was unable to get at. Yet again it handled the inclement weather without a hitch. i am at present sitting in my garage awaiting the onslaught of the tin worm!
Thank you for your past horror stories for bringing me to this place.
