Hi, repainted the dash panel where the radio and ac switches go. Forgot to photograph it first and now want to duplicate the writing around the ac switches, both upper and lower. If anyone can send me a picture of theirs i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Let me know if you decide to go with a sticker instead. I just had mine repainted and am in the same boat

Pretty hard get decent photos guys....Maybe one may want, to say....powder coat the panel white, then paint in semi-gloss black. Take it to the engravers and have them etch what you want. Blows my mind what they can do these days with the laser on irregular surfaces. Just an idea, not claiming it to be a good one.

Thanks for the pics. Was going to paint it... BUT I did a search for water slide decals and found you can buy the paper and print out your own graphics on an inkjet printer. Might go this route but will visit a decal shop I have used in the past and see if they cant make some for me. If feasible I will run off a few sets and post a follow up in the next coupe of weeks. Thinking the cost will be minimal and probably a lot of people might want them

I'll take one as well. Have you touched up your ac/heat paint as well? I did not have to repaint the top vents but it could probably use a touch up.

Im in.

Are you doing them in English or German ?

Also, what about the letter for the slider controls ? A full set would be fantastic.

Ok- so I am expecting a quote on 50 sets of water slide decals in a couple of days. the kind you apply to model airplanes etc. I don't think vinyl decals will hold up well. I intend to cover them with a matt clear sealer to protect them. I am ordering English ones. Will post a pic when I get them. Looks like they are cheap and easy to print once a designer does the setup ($30)

My memory of using these stickers was that they only worked on very smooth surfaces. Do you think they will adhere to the A/C plate ? I think my finish is stock, and it is a little bumpy.

How was the stenciling done originally and can the process be recreated? I have similar labels on old McIntosh HiFi components, I will check the restorers of this gear to see how they do it.

Dry transfer

stenciling. Back in the days of draftsmen with pens and before computers, this was the process. You once could go to a graphics store and get lettering of all sorts. It's still around and a web search can get you what you want. You just have to correctly identify the font and size. Yes, they even have the arrows.

yes i remember - we used to use them all the time on architectural presentation drawings. one of the most popular brands was letraset. otherwise known as rub-on letters. they primarily came in either black or white, although there were some styles that were outline letters. okay, this was back in the day of our cars - there was one downside, they were fragile.
