Several years ago I bought a complete and new set of retractable seatbelt from Al at BlueDevil email for my 74 Coupe. I've emailed him and did not get a response from 1+ months ago. I've done a search on the Forum but got nothing about adjustment. Before I pull out the back seats I thought maybe someone else has discovered whether or not the tension on retraction can be increase adjusted.

Has anyone here been able to increase the retraction tension so the buckle returns to the line holder at the B pillar?

Thanks and Regards, Jon

Yes, it can be adjusted. I just started rebuilding my autoflugs in my Bav. I'm sewing new belts in, too. I'll have to get pics to show you, but it has to do with carefully prying one side of the retractor off, BARELY, so the spring doesn't pop out (did that myself and can actually be a bit dangerous), and rotating the plastic housing to increase the wound spring tension, then click it back in place. Assuming we have the same belt assembly.
I had actually just emailed with Al about my belts last week and he did respond, so maybe he didn't get yours?

Thanks Stephen for the warning. I'll give it a try and it's good to know how to do it.
Much appreciated.
Regards, Jon

Stephen,
BRILLIANT and thank you for going to the trouble of showing exactly how it's done. I will give it try on the passenger one as most people don't want to ride with me (my wife) and thus that seat is seldom occupied. When I'm successful with that one I'll move on to the driver side.
Kind Regards, Jon
