An old BMW salesman told me the World over criminals drive BMWs. Since my Brother at the time was a BMW salesman, he corroborated that. I'd add spoilt kids to the list. My Son told me this morning a student at his high school has an I8.

This reminds me of when I was standing at the BMW parts counter at the local dealership and listening to the lady in front of me give a list of all the stuff she wanted to buy for her son's new M3 that they bought him for his 18th birthday. He made a list of all the accessories and mods he wanted. I think they totalled around $4k.

I was there to get an o-ring and thought it was too expensive!

A student at my high school in 1987 drove a Red/Tan 1988 M6 or a Silver/Black 1988 M3. Raul Raymundo was his name. His father was an oral surgeon. I lusted after those two cars, still do.

I bet he wore white pants with a sweater around his neck, and beat up the nerds!

No he was pretty cool and very humble about it. Wasn't an Ahole, he dressed like everyone else, Lacoste shirt with jeans and no socks and Sperry Topsiders or Converse All Sars. ;)

When my brother sold BMWs in Vancouver he told me more than once there would be tantrums in the show room mostly concerning optioning out a new three series with the extra stereo stuff and rims. One client turned a lowly 318 into a full bore M3 look car because they didn't want Junior driving such a fast machine. Optioned that way it almost cost the same. I do enjoy going to my local dealer because it is such a nice facility. 5 floors of cars and bikes.

I'm an Oral Surgeon and my 20 yo son drives a 2001 VW Vanagon. I hope that doesn't mean I'm a poor Oral Surgeon but rather a good father.

I bought my son a BMW for his first car. A 1992 5 speed 525i that needed a clutch. We did the clutch and suspension and brakes right after we got it.

That was nine years ago, it now has 239000 miles on it and he drives it to work every day.

Those kids both have cool cars. I hope one of my kids drives my e46 wagon to a job one day.
