Advice on clips to hold the trim to the rocker panel covers
The original are plastic channels with a button that bushes expansion fingers
It looks like BMW sells a bent metal replacement, but if I remember around $7 each
Has someone found a good replacement or solution at a car parts store?
Thanks

Available, these are the plastic ones:

Thanks! but
6.50 each from ecs, no photo to confirm that these are the ones, and shipped 10 days from order, so they need to order them
A couple places in UK ebay have them but they have contact seller disabled to ask how long shipping would be
$50 shipping from WN

EBAY HAS A SET FOR 40.00
SO TO INSTALL THEM THERES A TRICK
WHAT TO DO IS SET THE CLIP WITH A 1/16" OR SO ,WASHER BEHIND IT -TO BRING IT OUT FURTHUR
SET THE CLIPS WITH POR 15 OR WEATHERSRIP ADHESIVE AS THEY WILL BARELY BE IN THE HOLE
I ACTUALLY HELD THEM WITH VISE GRIPS AS I HAVE ABOUT 10 OF THEM
LET SIT OVERNITE TO HOLD FIRM
THEN YOU SLIDE- NOT PUSH THE TRIM ON
YOU NEED TO GREASE THE INNER RAIL AND IT GOES ON VERY EASILY AND FOREVER.
OK

Thanks, I didn't see those as they are not listed with the BMW part number

I used the clips from Walloth and Neesch, but modified them so they are easier to install, but most important, easier to remove.
here's my idea to that:

As these mouldings collect a lot of dirt, sand can rub in the paint, but also trap water. I want to keep them removable for periodic cleaning.

Easiest to stick an o-ring on it which will stop water from entering and also have the clip stick out enough to catch. I cannot recall the size but an old trick from some old BMW resto place here in New England.

set em with weatherstrip adhesive like i did
also secured them from coming out with the washer behind
