Can anyone recommend a way to remove this style of wing mirror?

I have the door card off but I cannot get access to other other side of the sheet metal where I'm assuming there may be bolts.

Any help very much appreciated.

At the mirror side, fold back the small rubber flap of the gasket, inside is a set screw that holds the mirror to the bracket. No door disassembly required.

Towards the back, part of the gasket recesses into the mirror base and looks like this > D <, that covers a phillips or allen head set screw. Gently pry the rubber back and unscrew while holding the mirror. When the screw is almost out, lift the rear of the mirror base away from the door 1/8-1/4 inch then push the mirror towards the front of the car.

The bracket is held by 2 phillips head screws, with expansion fittings on the inside of the door. In some cases nuts are welded or rusted to the door, others the 8mm nut will drop inside the door...that is a pain when reinstalling.
