alpina 7,8 x 16 alloys

Hi All, when I ask my question you will all know how new and dumb I am to the world of 3.0 cs's.
I just purchased a beautiful set of 7&8x16 alpina wheels and after sending the check I started looking at my car and am wondering how they will fit under the wheel wells w/o rubbing all over the place. If they are like early 911's w/ 7x15's some fit and some don't. Is there a correct tire combo that will work in all cases or is it pot luck? thanks for any info, John W

if you search the forum you will find that most with 7/8 16" Alpinas are running 205/55 front and 225/50 rears. Depending on your suspension setup, you may need to roll the front fenders.

I think that there is quite a difference between tyres though - I have not rolled my fenders (wings) and have the suspension techniques springs and to date have no rubbing but I think my 225/50 and 205/55 tyres have a narrow tread pattern versus some others.
