I have had numerous inquiries for the ALPINA front spoiler that we restored as on the CS Coupe pictured on my website.

Is there more interest for this spoiler from this gruppe? I have a shop that can build these for me, once we pull a mold off this unit . .
I estimate the price to be approximately $375.00, finished in white gelcoat.
Shipping is additional.

or the whole series on this car

Thank you!

I must admit I like this design, it's less "in your face" than the usual ones

questions:
1) Would you be prepared to ship to Scotland
2) How are you mounting it to the front body work
3) What's the ground clearance - I ask because of speed bumps and rough Scottish roads :!:
Thanks
Malc

Count me in for one. I have not gotten much (any) response from three emails I sent to Mr.Glasscar. How about the rear spoiler? Is that going to be available too as a package deal?

I've always loved the appearance of the Alpina spoilers on the CS, a lot more elegant than the stock CSL unit in my view. Count me in for one when it goes into production.

Thatsssssoooonice

Far too clean to be driven...!

Can you supply a few details?

I see a fartooclean 3.5 with sidedraft carbs, no battery up front, relocated windshield washer bottle and what? distributor?

How was the underbody cleaned?

What is the underbody paint, and can you comment on the use of coatings such as POR-15 for this use?

As if I don't have enough to do.

POR-15 good!!
Very, very durable self leveling rust proofer. A roller and a brush is all you need. Did my engine bay with it then used their chasis paint (black), very pleased with results, except for the ONE drip!!

My younger brother (ex first mate on an Alaskan ship) did his entire undercarage, fender wells and interior of his 2002 racer so he'll never have to worry about rust again....

ALPINA AIRDAM

Hi Mario,

Count me in also (i am the one that started it all...).

Yaron

I can ship these anywhere on plant earth . . as long as buyer pays

rear spoiler, as I have had several direct inquiries, This one is authentic Alpina with the rubber lip, there are no more new rubber lips available, I do have a supplier of the whole piece in F-glass.

This spoiler is mounted from underneath and behind, with two small visable fasteners on the ends. A bit different from the original Alpina, but cleaner and stronger.

I'd be keen

I'd like to order....what's the process???

Also what's the wheels you're running on that CS, are they 16's?

Cheers

Whats Up

Whats up with this Alpina spoiler thing? This thread just kind of fizzled out. Is anyone reproducing these things? Does anyone have one laying around that they aren't going to use? I'd love to find one before I send my car to the paint shop.

I was the one that did the restoration on Duane Sword's CS Coupe with the Alpina spoiler . . and had numerous requests to replicate the piece.

I have chosen for financial reasons not to reproduce them, Molding and fitment costs, along with the potential to damage the piece on Duane's car and then repairs refinishing far exceed the return on new pieces.

Last time beating a dead horse

I thought I would give this one last try before I buy a CSL style airdam.... I emailed Dan Koturov and Mr.Glasscar to see if either of them could build this piece for us. Mr glasscars email bounced back. Is he still around? Dan K however kindly emailed me back saying that he would be glad to reproduce the piece but he has no access to an original. So how about it. Is there anyone out there who has an original Alpina airdam that would be willing to let it be used to make a mold? I'm sure it could be done whithout damage and we could cover any shipping or other costs. I love the look of it and think there are enough folks out there who are interested to make it worthwhile.

I've got an original Alpina from pre-Motorsport days, its so early original that it doesn't even have markings/stock numbers attached to it. Also early enough that it doesn't have that horrid angular appearance that Alpina stuff had mid-70's. Very similar to this one on Shanon's car

but the mounting edge is not quite so lang...if that makes any sense. Came on a car with a pre-motorsports rubber lip rear spoiler, been saving it for the old Max Hoffmann car but still willing to drag it out and up to Dan's if there is "real" interest, which I trust Dan to be better at accurately gaging. Chatter on the net is cheap, molds etc are time consuming, actually laying up parts is time consuming, materials cost money, and interested parties vanish all the time. -shrug-

Hey I know that car!

My early Alpina airdam came from England and is made from aluminum. Some other pics are in the Documentation section of the Gallery. No numbers or stampings. I have yet to see another, I guess you have one too DP, cool.

Thankfully it is aluminum because DHL was kind enough to close the airplane/truck door on it during shipping. Basically, the box was crushed and it was folded in half when it was delivered :x I bent & hammered back into shape and re-painted it. It came out pretty nice considering its shape upon arrival.

Obviously airdams are awkward and challenging items to ship.
