Alpina Look Wheels

I have seen them unmounted and on two coupes, they look beautiful. The color is correct and the center caps really complete the look.

22 spokes vs 20...

These aren't in the same league as Peter's reproductions... these have too many spokes and are not a staggered set- they just don't look correct IMO.
 
I have 2 sets of perfectly restored staggered Alpina's wheels, one open lug set, and another closed lug set.

It took me about a year and half to find the first set, and 2 years later I found the second set.

I saw Peter's Alpina replica's last year in Monterrey on display with Murray.
If I had known they would look as good as they do---I'd have saved time and $$.

Chuck...its like this. Sometimes silicon looks better...but they are not real. You have the real thing even if they might sag a little. That said, can't beat Coupeking's replica.

I actually have a set of these wheels which I purchased new for only $550 for all 4 wheels new. They are actually 20 spoke and look identical to the Coupeking wheels. I know the website has them described as 22 spoke but count the spokes in the photos and you will see they are actually only 20 spokes as confirmed by counting the spokes on my wheels. Has anyone confirmed with Coupeking who manufactures his wheels and where they are made? The wheels sold at this website say Hofffman Imports on the box and are made in China. I will agree I would rather have the Coupeking wheels because they are staggered and have the correct offset. Another funny thing I noticed in the website is they claim they only made a limited run of 100 sets yet thay have been selling these wheels for the last three years and have yet to run out. I think it is safe to say that claim isn't true. At some point there were three different sellers on E-Bay that were selling these wheels new and all had multiple sets, this is where I bought my set from.

They have two different sets, one is supposed to be 22-spokes which only has 20 and they have the second version that is to have 21-spokes which it actually does.

I have ordered the Coupeking wheels and they are on their way to Australia as we speek.

I should have ordered them 2 weeks ago before the Aussie $ fell 15%.....

oh well all these things will be forgotten in the fullness of time.

14" Alpina's

Hi all. What are everyone's thoughts on 14" Alpina's? I can pick up a set of 4 genuine Alpina's last fitted to an E3 for $400 Aus in Melbourne, but how do you think they will look? They will need to be restored but that won't cost much. Pic of actual wheels attached.

So what's the consensus? It looks by this post to be that 16" is the way to go for Alpina's.

Alpinas?

Hi the photo does not shown genuine Alpinas. They are the BMW produced alpina lookalike. There are no ridges on the spokes of Alpinas!

These are standard 6" wide wheels as found on Bavarias, Coupes, 528's, and 633's from 1975 til 1981 or so
