Another way of saying it works if you are young enough and out form before function...
I think that rolling pillarless sardine cans called E9's are the epitome of form over function.
I had a chance to paint the centers this weekend. They are coming along nicely. Thanks to those that provided input. I went with Duplicolor Satin. The wheel faces need refinishing, and the stainless rings need some curb rash sanded out. I got a good quote from a polisher on that but I am going to let the buyer address. I am going to see what a die grinder with a scotch brite disk will do though.

That came out great. I'll see if I can refurb my Alpina reps with that paint.
I thought you guys might appreciate what became of these wheels. I'm not a huge fan of tire stretch but the craftsmanship is great. They went from 18's to 19's. If anyone is interested in a custom three piece wheel, you may want to contact Dominic at Dominant Engineering:
