Hi All

I am looking for alternative rubbers especially for door and boot given the price - there must be similar spec out there.

Has anyone got any experience and if so where did they get it and what spec.

It would be very useful if someone could measure profiles and post some pics on here of profile with rough measure.

I don't have my old ones to use and will share details of supplier as soon as I find - thanks

The door seals are bonded to the hard combing material on the door sill, you aren't going to find this anywhere else. Only $225 each at internet BMW dealers, trunk is $100 or so, pretty cheap.

In order from the front clip to the horseshoe by windshield are e36 trunk or Mercedes "124" class (e300 1988-92). Two of these and then the trunk seal from a e32.
Bottom of the door only is e30 door seal.
Trunk is something else- don't remember right now.

can some one post suppliers for 225$ as in uk it is more £245 each

thanks

sfdon please confirm door seal P/Ns....

Is that E36 trunk lid gasket p/n 51718132675,
E32 trunk lid gasket p/n 51711908443,
E30 door seal p/n 51711876151 left or 51711876152 right?

I used generic edge-grip rubber seals for the lower part of my door seals (that was the part of the seal that was most damaged on my car). The upper part of the door seal (the part around the vent and main windows) has a more specialized shape - I not sure if anything generic would substitute for that.

McMaster-Carr sells this for $2.00/foot - their minimum order quantity is 25 feet, which is enough for ~3 doors. See: http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/119/3456/=pqhkn7 On that page look for Style 2, 1/8" x 5/8" x 9/16"
